2 Connecticut residents among those arrested at U.S. Capitol

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Police in Washington say two Connecticut residents are among more than 80 people arrested in connection with the storming of the U.S. Capitol by supporters of President Donald Trump. The Metropolitan Police Department says Mauricio Mendez and Victoria Bergeson were charged with unlawful entry and curfew violation. Both are 40 and from Groton, Connecticut. A police log did not include details of the charges. Trump supporters stormed the Capitol on Wednesday in an attempt to stop Congress from confirming Democrat Joe Biden's win in the presidential election. Mendez and Bergeson could not be reached for comment Thursday.
