Lamont to keep 9 of Malloy's agency commissioners

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut Gov.-elect Ned Lamont says he's keeping nine of outgoing Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's state agency heads.

Lamont, who will be sworn in Wednesday, announced the list Monday. He says his remaining appointments will be announced on a rolling basis over the coming weeks.

The Democrat says he plans to re-nominate commissioners of the Departments of Mental Health and Addiction Services, Revenue Services, Banking, Rehabilitative Services, Veterans Affairs, Developmental Services, Consumer Protection and Labor.

Lamont says he's also keeping Victoria Veltri as the executive director of the state's Office of Health Strategy, an office created last year to improve health care and cut costs.

He's nominated new commissioners to oversee some other agencies, including Departments of Transportation, Correction and Emergency Services and Public Protection. The nominees require legislative confirmation.
