MERIDEN, Conn. (AP) - A preliminary report says Connecticut police found a gun under a robbery suspect after an officer shot him during a foot chase. Meriden Officer Eric Simonson fired his gun once through a car window and wounded 24-year-old Kenneth Strothers on Feb. 12 as police were trying to serve an arrest warrant on Strothers. That's according to a report released Thursday by New London State's Attorney Paul Narducci, who is investigating whether the shooting was justified. Strothers was shot in the abdomen and continues to be treated for his injuries. The report does not say whether Strothers threatened police with a gun.
