Noncompliant state workers face unpaid leave on Friday

Connecticut officials say 671 state employees or 2.2% of executive branch workers remain noncomplaint with Gov. Ned Lamont's vaccination and testing mandate. Some of those workers could be placed on unpaid leave as soon as Friday. Lamont said the number of executive branch workers who've proven they're vaccinated for COVID-19 or have submitted a weekly test has been increasing daily. He said people have to be held accountable at some point if they're not responding. The Department of Education and Connecticut Technical Education and Career System has the highest noncompliance rate at 7%, while the Department of Correction has the lowest vaccination rate at 57%.
